The guests were served dessert from a prettily appointed table decorated with white asters, lighted tapers and a bride's cake. As Mrs. henerson cut and served the cake Miss Edith Gants served the assorted wedding ice cream molds. The dime in the cake was found by Miss Lois Flug, the ring by Mrs. Henderson, and the thimble by Mrs. Walter Becker. Several games fo bridge were enjoyed with prizes being presented to the honored guest. Mrs. Henderson was showered with lovely gifts for her new home which has been established in the Peterson apartments. Guests present were: Mrs. Jack Patterson, Streator; Mesdames James Henderson, C. J. Brown, C. W. Swanson, Walter Becker, Lester Hoskins, J. L. Sullivan and R. L. Ball Misses Hortense Turner, Marjorie Ward, Viola Crone, Sheila Campbell, Lois Flug, Lorraine Gregg, Edith Gants.

Mrs. Al Grotenhuis, of Chicago, entertained a number of young women at a 7 o'clock dinner at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe Ball, Saturday evening. The affair was in honor of Mrs. Lester Hoskins [nee Virginia Flahavan], a recent bride. The evening was spent in games of various kinds, prizes being awarded to Mrs. Jule Beckman and Miss Mary Campbell, who in turn, presented them to the honored guest. Mrs. Hoskins was also the recipient of a gift of silverware from the attending guests. Those present were the honor guest, Mrs. Hoskins, Mrs. Jule Beckman, Misses Zena Flahaven, Mary Campbell, Alice Holmstrom, Iola Dickey, Virginia Melody, and the hostess, Mrs. Betty Grotenhuis.

The home of Mrs. Lester Hoskins was the scene of a pretty party on Saturday evening, when Mrs. Hoskins, assisted by Mrs. Betty Gretenhuis, of Chicago, and Miss Zena Flahaven, was hostess to about thirty young women. The affair was given in honor of Miss Virginia Melody, who is to become the bride of Jack Patterson, of Streator, on Saturday, Septembr 19. Bridge was the main diversion of the evening. After the usual number of games, Misses Ida Pettit and Mary Campbell, having the best scores, were awarded prizes. They, in turn, presented the trophies to the honored guest. A two-course lunch was served by the hostesses. A decorated bride's cake, adorned with a miniature bride and groom, was placed on the bride's table. When the cake was carved and portions distributed to the unmarried guests, Miss Louise Love discovered the ring, Miss Isabelle Kinsella uncovered the thimble, and Miss Zena Flahaven found the dime. Miss Melody was presented with many gifts including linen, silver and glassware.
