Mrs. Clementine Camery passed away at her home on W. Prospect Street at 6:15 last evening after a long illness. Mrs. Camery was aged 78 years. She was born in Knox County, Ohio, April 23, 1832. She was married to John Camery Jan. 2, 1853, in Gambier, Ohio. To them were born 10 children, six of whom are living, also 6 grandchildren. All were with her when she passed away. Her husband died Nov. 1, 14 years ago, in Kewanee.
Mrs. Camery has been a resident of Kewanee for 18 years and had many friends. She was known to many as "Grandma Camery." She united with the M. E. Church of this city at the age of 16 and had been a life long Christian. She was a member of the Free Methodist Church of this city at the time of her death.
At the family residence Thursday, the funeral service of Mrs. Camery was held at 10 o'clock. Mr. B.R. Park of the Free Methodist Church officiated. Music was furnished by a quartet composed of Mrs. R. D. Larue, Mrs. John Berglund, E. D. Cable and Dr. G. M. Lovaring. The remains were taken on the 2 o'clock interurban car and later to Henry, the interment being at Sugar Grove Cemetery in Whitefield Twp., a few miles from the city.
